We are currently hiring for the following position:
The ideal candidate should be highly organized, self-motivated and able to multitask with ease. Main responsibilities include, but are not limited to: managing email communications, generating business documents, including contracts, invoices, and production schedules, scheduling meetings, developing room layouts, and arranging coordinating rentals, and staying on top of project tasks. Event planning follows a non-traditional work schedule, requiring weekends for events, frequent checking of email to stay on top of things even out of the office, and post-business hour meetings with clients to accommodate their schedules. ○ Generation of business documents (Contracts, invoices, timelines, etc)
○ Updating and organizing files and documents for events
○ Acquisition of rentals and event decor
○ Calendar management (Scheduling consultations, client meetings, site visits, etc)
○ Email, phone and in-person communication directly with clients and vendors
○ Event styling, set-up and assistant coordination on event days
○ Inventory management of decor and other rental items
○ Attend industry events in Southeastern Michigan for continuing education and networking
○ Availability 3 weekdays per week for office work, and weekends when events are scheduled.
○ Reliable transportation
○ Previous work or internship experience within the hospitality/events industry, for example, event planning, catering, floral, etc. or office administration experience with a serious interest in transitioning into the event planning industry.
○ Must have experience will all Google Drive applications (Gmail, Docs, Sheets)
○ Experience with some form of Event Planning software (for example: HoneyBook, 17 Hats, Aisle Planner, Dubsado, Social Tables, AllSeated)
○ Excellent organizational and time-management skills
○ Strong written and oral communication skills, and confidence writing emails and making phone calls
○ Problem-solving approach to challenge.
Bonus skills:
○ Experience with Adobe Photoshop, In-Design, or other graphic design software a plus.
Familiarity with social media, and ability to create usable and engaging on-brand content also a plus.
○ Starting Pay: $15/hour for 3 months of training
○ Review after 3 months with possible 15% increase
○ Review after 12 months with possible 20% increase
○ Bonuses/gratuities often provided on event days
○ One lunch per week provided
