My daughter, Elena Vienne, is the brightest light in my life. She came into this world with kindness in her heart, and the kind of compassion, sweetness and joy that a mother could only wish for. She has grown up with a fierce determination to succeed, and a desire to share love and light with everyone around her. She is talented beyond measure and hearing her sing, is one of my greatest joys. Elena is a junior in high school, loves musical theater, and challenges me everyday to be a better mother, friend, and human.

Karl and I have been together for 7 years. He loves me when I'm unloveable, and is my anchor through windy sails. We own a home together in Ann Arbor, MI, and have committed our lives to one another--but, guess what?! We aren't married! LOL! We are both full time parents to our kids, so between parenting and running our businesses, we just haven't sealed the deal. Maybe one day this wedding planner will be planning her own wedding, but for now, we are just doing this life thing together. Karl is an attorney and has a family practice with his Dad in Ypsilanti, MI.

This is Lily Rascal Garcia. Elena and I got Lily when she was 7 weeks old, from a family that rescued a pregnant Labrador, and Lily was part of the litter. We really couldn't have asked for a better dog. She has brought so much companionship and love to our home. Lily turned 10 this year, but still loves to play fetch with the Chuck-it! and tennis ball, and wrestle with her stuffed animals.

Both of these photos were taken on December 1st, 1951. Yes, you read that right. My Dad's parents, and my Mom's parents were married on the same day, the same year, and are a glowing example of what marriage truly means. My grandmothers are really the inspiration behind my company name.
My Grandmami, Elena Garcia, (on left), was born in Cuba, and spoke beautiful Spanish.. and adorable broken English. When I was little, and visited them in Miami, she would take me out on the balcony before bed, and tell me to make a wish on la luna--the moon. Just before her death in 2008, she told me that when I need her, to look to la luna, and she would be there. I still see her face in the moon..
My Grandmother, Barbara Geerlings, (on right) was the most beautiful and poised woman I have ever known. Seeing her now, her mind and body plagued by Alzheimer's, I only truly see her when I look into her eyes. But in her youth, and even up until just a few years ago, she was the consummate host, and a timeless beauty. The quiet matriarch, setting the stage. My love of hosting family and friends and planning little "soiree's" came from seeing her do it so gracefully.
My Luna Soiree was born.
